Teacher Corps at Greene Street Friends
April/May 2019
Cassie Flanagan is teaching a group at Greene Street Friends School how to make walking sticks using green (fresh) wood. The curriculum includes everything from harvesting the wood from trees at Harriton House to carving/refining the sticks with woodworking tools, and culminates in a group hike to use the sticks in the field.

Teacher Corps teachers Cassie Flanagan, Tim Deaton and Pat McEvoy-Hull taught a workshop on making customized wooden fidget spinners. They taught 4th graders from Frenchtown Elementary School and the public at ArtYard Art Center how to use hand-powered portable scroll saws.

Teacher Corps teachers Christine Vega, Vinetta Miller, and Cassie Flanagan hosted an open session for Haverford College students on campus during final’s week. They invited students to learn how to make giant bubbles with rope and to learn to use hand-powered scroll saws to make brooches.
