FACE SPACE is a selection of representational and symbolic paintings, drawings, and sculpture from ten artists working out of the studio at Center for Creative Works: Jacob Berger, Mary T. Bevlock, Paige Donovan, Clyde Henry, Olin Johnson, Jason McGonigle, Vinetta Miller, Joyce Moseley, David Schmuckler, and Eric Stewart. The portraits in this exhibition range from celebrities to friends to family to deities, each offering up a sacred geometry of mouth, nose, ears and eyes.

A performance in three acts, (Demon 1, Demon 2, and Demon 3) VAMPIRE EVIL DEVIL DEMON MONSTERS, is the culmination of the past two years of Schmuckler’s art career. “I AM VAMPIRE EVIL DEVIL DEMON MONSTER” (2021) Schmuckler tells his audience. In a painted and hand-embroidered costume Schmuckler transforms himself. Schmuckler uses his voice and found materials to create the sounds of thunder, rain, fire, screaming, devil laughter, demon growls, satanic voices, knives being sharpened, and lightning. He adds in claws that scratch, doors that creak, and echoes that roar to paint the aural landscape of a haunted house inhabited by demons. Schmuckler nods to his favorite horror movies which include mass-media horror icons like Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees, and transports us to a fantastic world of his own making.

Filly Fool Fest is a celebration and reclamation of the holy FOOL! Let us celebrate the absurd together with song(s), clown(s), and poetry(ies) with Disabled, Chronically Ill, neurodivergent, sick and MAD artists! Gather around 5pm to picnic together and to check out our mini-market of artistic works and goods. Stay as the sun goes down to witness a performance line up for the GODS! Content Clown will open the space with their wistful existentially silly musical puppet piece, 'BRAVE NEW WORM'. Parker Gabriel will then take the stage with his guitar Juliet and offer us music, words and wit! Julia Finnegan will follow with storybook songs that will tickle your imagination! And the show will be closed by the channeling of poetry through the essence of Tyrike Taiku!! Join us for an evening filled with sacred wonder, wisdom, and foolishness!!
