Reciprocity
February 14, 2020
Reciprocity is a show conceived in celebration of the ongoing conversation between the collective of artists at the Center for Creative Works. Everyday artists from all backgrounds and walks of life, with varied skill sets and a wide range of abilities come together under one roof to simply create. Inspiration and creativity flow freely through this studio, and the teaching artists and participants share in the giving and receiving of both. While day to day operations focus primarily on fostering the artwork of the participants, that artwork is nourished by the skill sets of the teachers who devote their days to mentorship and guidance. That unending conversation is highlighted by the choices of participant artwork from each of the exhibiting teaching artists, creating a visual, tactile, and auditory montage of
what I hope is conveyed in this collection, the understanding that through art there truly is no separation, that through the act of creating something new to the world we all share a common language.
